I love going down to Pet Pizazz to work on this site. Sally is so dedicated to keeping up on new tecniques and learning new methods. She knows I share her interest and love even though I no longer groom for a living. I was totally excited when she introduced me to Jodi Murphy’s site and video about deshedding theory and tecniques.
Jodi Murphy is a two time Master Pet Stylist and has achieved the status of NCMG (National Certified Master Groomer) through The National Dog Groomers Association of America as well as MPS Meritus (Master Pet Stylist Meritus) through the International Society of Canine Cosmetology. These titles allow Jodi to certify groomers to their master pet stylist status throughout the USA.
She is also the owner/operator of The Puppy Spa Mobile Grooming in New Jersey. Being one of the top pet stylists in the country, she has been a Groom Team USA team member for four years ranking within the top four pet stylist of the United States. In 2002, the ultimate highlight of her career she landed the number one position on Groom Team USA. In 2005 and 2006 Jodi won the title Best American Groomer at Intergroom. She attained the World Grand Champion title in the Oster Invitational Tournament of Champions in 2006 among 42 top groomers from around the world.
In addition to being a multiple Best All Around and Best In Show competitor she became an International Medalist as well. Sweeping the International scene with a gold and bronze medal in Barcelona, Spain in 2005 and most recently a gold medal in Milan, Italy in 2007. After surpassing all her goals in the competition ring now Jodi is here to educate groomers and share with them her knowledge and experience in the pet grooming industry as well as ‘passing the torch’ to upcoming competitors.
Back when I ran Fancy Pets spring shedout was the busiest and most profitable time of year except for Christmas. It was called blowout, molting, and spring shedout. Over the years I developed many ways of speeding up the process to make it even more profitable. After I watched Jodi Murphy’s video I realized just how much I didn’t know and how much there was room for improvement! Her teaching is very precise and clear, geared for experienced groomers or even beginners. I expect to watch it many more times to absorb the theories and just to watch her in motion.
If you want to learn more I”d recommend you visit her site, read the faqs and maybe order a video or two or three!
